Fredda Branyon - Still trying to make money off cancer patients!!!!!!!!!!!!!

B may think I personify a dragonfly, or a turtle.  But, really - I'm an elephant.  I never forget.  And Fredda Branyon is definitely on my unforgettable shit list.  She's the lovely that for a while there attached herself to any number of cancer blogs - including mine - to sell her crap.  Here are some posts that cover those deets:

From June of 2013:  Quack Watch!!! - Jerks who try to take advantage of the word "cancer"!

From July of 2013:  Jenny Hudgeson, Kim Burns, and Fredda Branyon...different or the same????

From February 2018:  One Hell of a day! And, yes. Fredda Branyon is STILL a criminal!!!

So just to review - there is this:  From the Houston Chronicle in 2011 - Stem cell case could land woman in prison

Where they note - "Umbilical cords, once considered medical waste, turned into a $300,000 stem cell gold mine for one Arizona businesswoman whose black market dealings in Texas border towns landed her in Houston federal court.

According to filings by prosecutors, the laboratory owner bought umbilical cords from a Del Rio midwife who told new parents that their babies' tissue would be donated. She then hired a researcher to extract stem cells from the cord blood and later sold the stem cells to a Brownsville man who used them to treat patients with chronic illnesses.

In actuality, neither the woman nor her company had approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to manufacture, sell or distribute stem cells."

"The law and a dozen federal charges caught up with Fredda Branyon this summer. And last week, the 58-year-old cut a deal admitting to details of the scheme, pleading guilty to one count of introducing an unapproved drug through interstate commerce, and agreeing to cooperate with the ongoing investigation."

And later there was this, from Stem Cell Pioneers:  Stem Cell Smuggler Pleads Guilty

Which states:  "A former Arizona laboratory owner has pleaded guilty to selling unapproved stem cells across state lines.  Fredda Branyon, the former owner of Global Laboratories in Scottsdale, AZ, faces up to three years in jail and up to $10,000 in fines. Appearing before a US district judge on August 18, Branyon admitted that in 2009 her company sold stem cells for non-research purposes without FDA approval.

Specifically, she admitted to selling 183 vials of stem cells to an individual in Brownsville, TX on 27 separate occasions between April 2009 and February 2010 for approximately $300,000. This individual then treated patients suffering from autoimmune diseases with these stems cells.

The stem cells were not created under FDA guidelines or in an FDA-approved facility. Instead, Branyon created the stem cells from the umbilical cord tissue purchased from a Del Rio, Texas midwife. Because Branyon did not have an experience creating stem cells, she hired a Charleston, SC medical school professor to assist her.

It’s a real disservice to people who are really trying hard to follow rules, and perhaps overly strict rules because of the misinterpretations of what stem cells are. To do something like that just makes it harder and harder for those therapies to become actualized,” said Broad Institute stem cell researcher John Rinn.

In 2009, Branyon announced that her Branyon Integrative Medical Group (BIMG) would perform a study on the treatment of HIV-related illness using umbilical cord-derived stem cells. The study was designed as a six-month program to be overseen by Mexican physician Edgar Payan Arechiga. It is not known if this study was actually conducted. The BIMG, formerly known as the New Hope Medical Center, was founded by Branyon to offer alternative treatments for patients suffering from cancer and other chronic illnesses.
It’s just too easy to make money off of sick people, and some of these [stem cell] clinics are taking real advantage,” says stem cell clinic watchdog Barbara Hanson. After a bad experience in a Tijuana stem cell clinic that promised to cure Hanson and her friend’s chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), the two women co-founded the online forum Stem Cell Pioneers in 2007. The forum gives patients interested in stem cell therapies a place to share information related to stem cell treatments, doctors, clinics, and results.
In 2007, Hanson posted information on the forum about Branyon’s background, pointing out that Branyon was not an accredited doctor in the US. At that time, Branyon wrote in an e-mail to Hanson, “Because of pulling in many many types of treatments from around the world (some not FDA approved) for other MDs and DOs I decided not to become licensed. I never lost a license because I never had one to loose [sic]. With the type of research that I have donated my life to, I could in no way have done it with a license.”

I've known for some time that she has her ridiculous websites, Dr. Fredda Branyon  and New Hope Unlimited  There she makes "incredible" claims, offers "alternative cancer care" and also notes:

"Although Fredda Branyon has chosen not to seek licensure as a physician, she has dedicated her life to the advancement of complementary medicine, and has worked diligently to educate both patients and physicians on the true power of hope."

Now why would someone put DOCTOR at the tippy tip top of their page and then have to admit they aren't one?????????????  Why doesn't she list convicted criminal as one of her many accolades????  Hmmmm....  At any rate, at NEW HOPE you can get your cancer treated in MEXICO!!!!!  There, through a pantheon of freak-a-doodles, you can have "over 200" sorts of cancer treated via "antitumor protocols, detoxification, intravenous beet derived levo-rotary vitamin C, DHEA, melatonin, thyroid and thymus hormones, oxidative therapy, oxygenation therapy, vegetarian/low sugar diet" and so much more!!!  They even offer dental work at "10% the cost of that in the US".  I'm sure all their cancer therapy is free, though.  Right??????  I mean, good ole' Fredda wouldn't be making big bucks off the backs of desperate cancer patients with total bull shit care, now would she??!!!!  I mean you get "intravenous beet derived levo-rotary vitamin c," some vegetables and oxygen after all!!!!

Well, today I discovered the lovely Fredda has written a book!!!  You'll never, not in a million years, be able to guess the title!  So here you go:

It’s All About the Money: The Truth About Orthodox Cancer Treatments

BAHAHAHAHA!!!!  Indeed!  I can't even!!!!  She should know.  She's all about making money off cancer patients.  Been working at it for years.  What a jerk.

Oh, and of course.  I left a little review!  Check it out:  Celeste Morris's Reviews > It’s All About the Money: The Truth About Orthodox Cancer Treatments  I give a little Fredda background, but sum up with:

[Branyon's history] reads better than a lot of books, doesn't it??? So - she's not a doctor. She IS a criminal. And yeah. A real expert in how to make money off of cancer patients!!!

The more you know. ~ c
